The Publishing Consortium, LLC is a cooperative of independent publishing companies, based in Colorado. Member presses have been part of the consortium since 2012.
Why the consortium exists
Starting a press is expensive. The consortium was created so small presses and publishers could share those startup costs. By combining the needs of a group, members use their numbers to get better deals than they could on their own.
ISBNs are a good example. They are expensive to buy one at a time, and buying together brings the cost down.
